Jewish Wedding in Puerto Rico: Gabriella & Michael’s Luxury Destination Celebration
A Jewish wedding in Puerto Rico that proves tradition and destination can coexist beautifully. From the Ketubah to the Horah, Gabriella and Michael’s day was unforgettable.
You and I.
Gabriella and Michael’s story began the way many unforgettable love stories do—unexpectedly, at a house party just over four years ago. At the time, Gabriella found herself in a relationship that no longer served her, and in contrast, Michael represented something entirely different: ease, connection, and clarity. After her breakup, what followed felt almost inevitable. These two quickly became inseparable, building a relationship rooted in intention and undeniable chemistry.
When it came time to plan their wedding, they reached out to one of Puerto Rico’s most trusted planners, Hayxanair of Nayas Events. Our history goes back years, long before weddings, to our FEMA co-working days. That foundation of trust made it easy for her to connect us, knowing we would align creatively and professionally.
Custom-made perfection
Our first virtual meeting set the tone immediately. It felt less like a consultation and more like a conversation between friends. We laughed, exchanged ideas, and quickly honed in on their vision. By the time Michael briefly joined fresh from the gym, it was already clear: we were a perfect fit. Soon after, they officially booked and began planning their trip to Puerto Rico.
Before the wedding day, we met in Old San Juan for their “love story” session—a pre-wedding shoot designed to build comfort, establish rhythm, and create imagery for invitations and wedding stationery. Old San Juan, with its timeless architecture and vibrant textures, served as the perfect backdrop. Despite overcast skies and the constant threat of rain, we adapted in real time. When the weather finally caught up to us, we transitioned to the Condado Palm Hotel, using its lobby to craft intimate, editorial-style portraits that elevated the entire session. What could have been a setback became an opportunity to create something uniquely refined.
The first look is everything.
By the time March 22nd arrived, everything was in place for a wedding that would be as culturally rich as it was emotionally powerful. I arrived early—as I always do—ready to document every layer of the day. Gabriella’s suite was filled with energy, anticipation, and laughter as she prepared alongside her closest friends and family. Meanwhile, Michael embraced a relaxed yet intentional aesthetic with a tan suit that perfectly complemented the destination setting.
This wedding carried special significance as one of the most complete Jewish celebrations I’ve had the privilege to document. The day began with the Ketubah signing, a deeply meaningful Jewish tradition where the groom was made aware of their marriage contract, outlining their commitments to one another. It is both symbolic and legal, witnessed by loved ones, and sets the spiritual foundation for the marriage.
Love under the Chuppah.
From a production standpoint, this was an all-hands-on-deck effort. With a full team of photographers and videographers connected through headsets, we operated with precision, ensuring every moment—both grand and subtle—was captured seamlessly.
Despite persistent rain, the ceremony adapted beautifully to an atrium setting. Jewish weddings are known for their depth of tradition, and Gabriella and Michael’s ceremony embodied that fully. Under the chuppah, a symbolic canopy representing the home they would build together, they exchanged vows surrounded by those who mattered most. One of the most iconic moments followed: the breaking of the glass, where Michael stepped down firmly, signaling both the fragility of life and the enduring strength of their union. The room erupted in celebration, marking the official beginning of their marriage.
Existing…for each other.
Following the ceremony, we moved quickly into portraits before transitioning into the reception. And then came one of the most electrifying traditions of the night: the Horah.
The Horah is a high-energy Jewish dance that brings everyone together in a circle of pure celebration. The couple is lifted into the air on chairs while family and friends dance around them, often holding hands or linking arms. It symbolizes community support, joy, and the collective lifting of the couple into their new life together. There is nothing subtle about it—it is loud, chaotic, emotional, and absolutely unforgettable. Photographing it requires instinct, timing, and a willingness to step into the movement rather than observe from a distance.
The first…of many.
As the night continued, heartfelt toasts flowed freely, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and spontaneous. At one point, it genuinely felt like an open mic session—each speech adding another layer to the story of Gabriella and Michael.
The celebration evolved into pure joy: a packed dance floor, candid moments, photo booth laughter, and even Michael stepping behind the bar to serve drinks himself. Later in the evening, Gabriella changed into a second dress—sleeker and more dance-friendly—allowing her to fully immerse herself in the energy of the night without restriction.
Hip hip…Horah!
As the evening came to a close, there was a shared sense that something truly special had taken place. This wasn’t just a wedding—it was a complete experience. A seamless blend of culture, emotion, and celebration, executed alongside a team of vendors I deeply trust.
Exhausted but fulfilled, I left knowing one thing for certain: this is exactly why I do what I do. And if given the chance, I would relive this entire day without hesitation.
MAZEL TOV!
For Jewish couples considering a destination wedding in Puerto Rico, Gabriella and Michael’s celebration stands as proof that you don’t have to compromise tradition to embrace a new setting. With the right team, your culture can be honored fully—while still creating something entirely your own.
The Art of the Luxury Wedding Film
Why are luxury couples prioritizing wedding films? From ideal film length to editing style and must-capture moments, this guide explores what defines a truly exceptional wedding film experience.
Luxury wedding film capturing an elegant celebration with cinematic storytelling, emotional vows, refined details, and high-end reception moments in a timeless, editorial style.
There are moments in life that deserve more than memory alone. They deserve motion, sound, atmosphere, and emotion preserved with intention. This wedding film is not simply a recap of a day. It is a cinematic heirloom, crafted to transport you back to every glance, every embrace, every quiet in-between moment that photographs alone cannot fully express.
For couples who expect the very best, wedding filmmaking has become an essential part of the celebration. Not as an afterthought, but as a cornerstone of how their story is told.
Why a Wedding Film Is the Ultimate Way to Capture Your Day
Photography freezes a moment. Film allows it to breathe.
The subtle tremble in a voice during vows. The laughter that echoes across a reception space. The way light moves through a veil as it catches the wind. These are living moments, and they deserve to be experienced exactly as they unfolded.
A wedding film preserves not only how your day looked, but how it felt. It becomes something you return to on anniversaries, share with future generations, and revisit whenever you want to relive the atmosphere of one of the most important days of your life.
The Rise of Video in a Video-Centric World
We live in a world where video is the dominant form of storytelling. From social platforms to personal archives, motion content has become the most immersive and emotionally engaging medium available.
High-end couples are increasingly aware of this shift. They understand that their wedding is not just an event, but a narrative worth telling at the highest level. A wedding film aligns seamlessly with how we consume and share memories today, offering both immediacy and longevity.
It is no longer a luxury reserved for a select few. It is an expectation for those who value experience, artistry, and emotional depth.
How Long Should a Wedding Film Be?
The length of a wedding film is less about duration and more about intention.
A well-crafted film typically falls within a range that allows the story to unfold naturally without losing its emotional impact. Too short, and it risks feeling incomplete. Too long, and it can dilute the experience.
The ideal wedding film is one that feels effortless to watch from beginning to end. Every scene serves a purpose. Every transition carries meaning. The pacing is deliberate, allowing moments to land without overstaying their welcome.
For luxury couples, the focus is never on quantity, but on refinement. A film that is concise, immersive, and emotionally resonant will always stand the test of time.
What Style of Editing Defines a Luxury Wedding Film?
Editing is where a wedding film becomes art.
A luxury wedding film leans into a cinematic, narrative-driven approach. It prioritizes storytelling over spectacle, emotion over excess. The color grading is intentional, often timeless rather than trendy. The sound design is immersive, blending vows, ambient audio, and carefully curated music into a seamless experience.
Transitions are smooth and purposeful. Nothing feels rushed or forced. The film flows like a story rather than a highlight reel.
Most importantly, the editing reflects the couple. No two films should ever feel the same. Each one is tailored to the energy, personality, and atmosphere of the wedding itself.
The Most Important Moments to Capture
A truly exceptional wedding film is built on both grand moments and subtle details.
The anticipation of getting ready. The quiet exchanges before the ceremony begins. The emotional weight of the vows. The energy of the celebration as the night unfolds.
Equally important are the in-between moments. The unscripted laughter. The fleeting glances. The way family and friends interact when they think no one is watching.
These are the layers that give a film depth. They transform it from documentation into storytelling.
A luxury wedding film does not simply follow a timeline. It captures a feeling, weaving together moments that define the essence of the day.
A Film That Becomes Part of Your Legacy
This film represents more than a wedding. It represents a chapter in your life, preserved with intention and artistry.
For couples who value authenticity, emotion, and elevated storytelling, a wedding film is not optional. It is essential. It is the closest thing we have to reliving a moment exactly as it happened.
A Luxury Wedding at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico
A modern love story that began on Bumble led to a breathtaking luxury wedding at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, complete with drone photography, oceanfront vows, and bold editorial portraits.

When Rhianna first reached out to me in mid-August of 2025, she let me know that she and Bryce were planning to tie the knot at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. As soon as I saw the venue name pop up in my inbox, I knew this was going to be special. El Conquistador is one of the most iconic luxury wedding venues in Puerto Rico, perched high above the Atlantic with panoramic ocean views that feel cinematic at every turn.
There was one additional request in her email that immediately stood out: they wanted aerial photography. Bryce is apparently a drone enthusiast, and incorporating drone coverage into their wedding day felt less like an add-on and more like a statement. At a venue like El Conquistador Resort, where architecture meets coastline in dramatic fashion, aerial wedding photography elevates the entire visual narrative.

Shortly after her initial inquiry, we scheduled a virtual meeting. Within minutes of the cameras turning on, we were vibing. One of my favorite icebreakers with couples is asking how they met. Rhianna and Bryce’s story began on Bumble, the dating app where women make the first move. Two years later, they were inseparable and planning a destination wedding in Puerto Rico overlooking the ocean. Modern love at its finest.
Fast forward to the wedding day.
On my drive to Fajardo, I noticed Rhianna had added a fourth person to our three-way iMessage thread. That person turned out to be Jessica, her longtime friend and an event planner back home, who had generously stepped in as their day-of coordinator. That single addition changed everything. While I often bring a second shooter to larger celebrations, intimate weddings like this allow me to operate solo and move freely. Jessica sent over a timeline breakdown—screenshot and all—and ran the day with quiet authority and precision. It was seamless, and I was free to focus entirely on storytelling.

We began with Bryce and his crew inside the cigar bar at El Conquistador Resort, one of my favorite locations on property for groom portraits. The interior lends itself beautifully to my signature dark and moody aesthetic. I captured a series of window-lit portraits of Bryce before inviting his groomsmen into the frame for a few relaxed, editorial-leaning moments. There’s something timeless about a groom surrounded by his inner circle before walking into one of the biggest days of his life.
From there, we made our way downstairs to one of the resort gardens for family portraits with Bryce’s closest relatives. The lush greenery and ocean air provided a refined yet organic backdrop that perfectly balanced the architecture of the hotel.
Jessica then whisked me upstairs to Rhianna’s suite, where the energy shifted into that beautiful pre-ceremony anticipation. Rhianna was putting the finishing touches on her hair and makeup, surrounded by her closest friends. With Jessica’s assistance, I photographed the wedding rings and the sand they would later use during their ceremony to symbolize unity. Those detail shots matter. They anchor the emotional story.

I documented Rhianna’s getting-ready moments using the suite’s mirror for layered compositions and the chaise lounge for a more editorial setup. We draped her wedding dress over the chair, allowing the fabric to cascade naturally, adding texture and dimension. Toward the end, I stepped out onto the balcony with her and captured portraits overlooking the ceremony site below. The ocean shimmered in the background, and you could feel the magnitude of what was about to happen.
On our way to the ceremony garden, we paused at a stunning cement archway that felt architecturally striking against the tropical surroundings. Jessica and I agreed instantly—it was the perfect place for standalone bridal portraits. I quickly introduced off-camera flash to preserve the ambient environment while adding sculpted light to Rhianna’s features. The result was clean, editorial, and refined.

As guests took their seats, Yuber, my drone pilot, already had the drone in the air. Timing could not have been better. He captured Rhianna’s walk toward the ceremony archway from above, with Bryce waiting just ahead and the ocean stretching endlessly beyond them. This is why drone wedding photography at El Conquistador Resort is so powerful—it contextualizes the scale and beauty of the setting in a way ground photography simply cannot.
The ceremony unfolded exactly as you would hope. Vows were exchanged with tear-filled eyes. The first kiss was deeply moving. Bryce’s father, Scott, officiated and delivered a speech that balanced humor and heartfelt emotion effortlessly. As the ceremony concluded, the drone performed one final fly-by over the entire wedding party, capturing everyone waving as it climbed high into the sky over the water. It was cinematic, celebratory, and unforgettable. Afterward, I grabbed a few dynamic portraits of Rhianna and Bryce using flash for added dimension. But I wasn’t done yet.

I had one more image in mind—an editorial portrait to close out the story. Inside the hotel, the couple had secured a private bar featuring a pool table. The setting was moody, refined, and slightly rebellious in the best way. I laid Rhianna across the billiard table, allowing her gown to spill over the felt. She held a celebratory cigar, while Bryce stood confidently beside her with his own cigar and a billiard stick in hand. It was bold, stylish, and unapologetically modern.
For me, as a luxury wedding photographer in Puerto Rico, that image felt like the perfect exclamation point. It blended romance, personality, and editorial flair—exactly what I strive to create for every couple who trusts me with their story.
Rhianna and Bryce’s wedding at El Conquistador Resort was intimate yet grand, emotional yet playful, modern yet timeless. A true destination wedding in Puerto Rico that celebrated not only love—but individuality.
What a fitting end!
The Top Luxury Wedding Photography Trends for 2025
Discover the latest luxury wedding photography trends for 2025. From cinematic storytelling to fine-art albums, explore how affluent couples in Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain, and Italy are elevating their destination weddings with high-end photography.
Where art meets luxury.
Redefining Luxury Wedding Photography
In 2025, luxury wedding photography has evolved into something far beyond traditional posed portraits. Affluent couples marrying in destinations like Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain, and Italy are demanding artistry, storytelling, and bespoke experiences that reflect their love and lifestyle. They want their wedding albums to look less like a standard collection of photos and more like a fashion editorial or a cinematic masterpiece. This shift is setting new standards for what it means to invest in high-end wedding photography.
Cinematic Storytelling Meets Editorial Style
Fine art photography will never go out of style.
One of the most prominent trends among wealthy couples is cinematic storytelling. With the help of drone photography and creative motion techniques, photographers are capturing weddings like full-length films. Imagine sweeping aerial shots of a Tuscan vineyard, an intimate sunset portrait on a Spanish cliffside, or a grand Puerto Rican estate viewed from above. These images go beyond documenting events—they create a visual narrative worthy of the silver screen.
Alongside cinema-inspired imagery, editorial-style photography is gaining momentum. Couples increasingly want their portraits to look like the pages of Vogue. This means bold lighting, artful poses, and fashion-forward compositions that highlight couture gowns, luxury venues, and curated details. The combination of Hollywood storytelling and high-fashion aesthetics is redefining what it means to have a luxury wedding album.
Authentic Storytelling With an Artistic Edge

Despite the demand for high production value, authenticity remains at the heart of luxury wedding photography. Couples are drawn to documentary-style coverage that captures genuine emotion—tears, laughter, and spontaneous joy—without staged poses. This approach tells the full story of a wedding day as it truly unfolds.
To elevate these candid moments, photographers are incorporating artistic techniques such as double exposures, motion blur, and film grain. Film photography in particular has made a major comeback, offering tactile, nostalgic images that pair beautifully with modern digital collections. Whether it’s a destination wedding in Puerto Rico or a glamorous event in Florence, film provides timeless beauty that resonates with today’s luxury clientele.
Lighting, Mood, and Dramatic Perspectives
Flare for the dramatic.
Lighting and atmosphere are essential to creating unforgettable imagery. Golden hour and blue hour are now carefully planned into wedding timelines to ensure couples are photographed in the most flattering natural light. Drone photography provides breathtaking aerial perspectives, while on-camera flash transforms evening celebrations into high-energy editorial-style images.
Black-and-white photography also remains timeless, stripping away distractions and focusing on pure emotion. For couples marrying in historic Italian villas, sunlit Spanish haciendas, or Puerto Rican beachfront resorts, these artistic lighting choices enhance the grandeur of their chosen venues.
Technology Elevating the Luxury Experience
Blurred love.
Affluent couples often lead the way in embracing innovative technologies. In 2025, many luxury wedding photographers are offering augmented reality albums where images can come alive as video clips through a mobile app. Virtual reality previews of venues, AI-assisted editing for faster turnaround, and dedicated wedding content creators curating social-media-ready reels are also in high demand.
These innovations provide instant gratification for couples who want to share their celebrations online while still receiving an heirloom-quality gallery. For destination weddings in Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain, or Italy, this blend of tech and tradition ensures every moment is captured and experienced at the highest level.
Multi-Day Destination Wedding Coverage
Welcome to paradise.
Luxury weddings are no longer limited to a single day. Couples marrying abroad are hosting multi-day celebrations, from welcome dinners to farewell brunches. Photographers are expected to capture each event with the same level of artistry, often requiring second and third shooters to ensure nothing is missed.
These multi-day experiences are particularly popular in Puerto Rico’s beachfront resorts, Portugal’s vineyards, Spain’s coastal estates, and Italy’s historic villas. By documenting the entire journey, photographers create a complete visual narrative that reflects both the extravagance and intimacy of a destination wedding.
Heirloom Keepsakes and Fine-Art Presentation

The final trend shaping luxury wedding photography lies in how memories are preserved. Digital-only galleries are no longer enough for affluent clients. Instead, they are investing in fine-art albums, large-scale prints, and custom heirlooms designed to last for generations.
Luxury couples are choosing hand-bound albums, archival wall art, and even anniversary print subscriptions to keep their love story alive long after the wedding day. For a couple marrying in San Juan or Tuscany, these keepsakes transform their celebration into a tangible legacy.
The Future of Luxury Wedding Photography
Timeless.
For couples planning a wedding in Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain, or Italy, one truth stands out: wedding photography in 2025 is about more than documenting an event. It is about curating an immersive, cinematic, and deeply personal experience. Luxury is no longer defined by excess, but by artistry, intentionality, and storytelling that transcends time.
Whether captured under Caribbean sunsets or Tuscan skies, luxury wedding photography has become the ultimate expression of love and lifestyle for today’s most discerning couples.
An Unforgettable Weekend: Liz and Manu’s Luxury Multicultural Wedding in Houston, Texas
Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas
As a destination wedding photographer, I’ve had the honor of traveling to some of the most picturesque locations and documenting love stories that leave lasting impressions. But this past weekend, I had the privilege of experiencing a wedding unlike any other—a lavish, multicultural celebration uniting Vietnamese and Indian traditions in the vibrant heart of Houston, Texas.
The story began months ago when Liz, a dear friend from college, reached out to me out of the blue. Naturally, my instincts as a luxury wedding photographer kicked in, and I immediately thought she might need a photographer for her big day. To my surprise—and her amusement—she wasn’t reaching out as a potential client but as a friend inviting me to her wedding as a guest. It was a delightful twist that set the tone for what would become an unforgettable experience.
Arrival in Houston
Downtown Houston, Texas
I booked my flight and accommodations at the stunning Hilton Americas-Houston, a sleek and modern hotel located downtown. When I arrived late Friday afternoon, I discovered I had unknowingly missed the Vietnamese portion of the wedding, a nod to Liz’s heritage. Nevertheless, the weekend had just begun, and Saturday promised a day filled with meaningful traditions and beautiful moments.
Behind the Scenes: A Special Gift for Liz
Liz, the bride, posing for pictures at the Hilton-Americas Hotel in Houston, Texas
The day began early on Saturday. Liz and her bridesmaids were gathered in her Presidential Suite, an opulent space that perfectly matched the grandeur of the occasion. As my wedding gift to Liz, I offered to photograph the morning preparations. My goal wasn’t to replace the hired professionals but to complement their work by capturing candid and intimate moments.
By the time Mir, the official wedding photographer, and Franco, the videographer, arrived, I had already covered a good portion of the bridal preparations. When they came in, I introduced myself, shared my intentions, and even offered to capture some behind-the-scenes shots of them in action. They welcomed the collaboration, and we worked together seamlessly throughout the day.
A Celebration of Cultures
Liz in her Indian wedding dress.
Liz’s groom, Manu, is Indian, and their wedding beautifully intertwined both Vietnamese and Indian traditions. From the joyful Baraat—a lively procession where Manu made a grand entrance in a gleaming white metallic Rolls-Royce—to the exchange of vows, every moment was steeped in culture and meaning.
For the Baraat, I donned a vibrant orange Kurta, the traditional tunic for men, fully immersing myself in the celebration. Later, I switched to a sharp suit and bow tie for the evening reception, where over 600 guests gathered to honor the couple. The sheer scale and luxury of the event were awe-inspiring, making it one of the most extravagant weddings I’ve ever attended.
Exploring the Role of a Wedding Content Creator
Photographer and videographer behind-the-scenes
While I attended primarily as a guest, I couldn’t resist stepping into the role of a “wedding content creator,” a newer trend in the wedding industry. Amy, the meticulous and talented wedding planner, encouraged me to document the day in a more organic, behind-the-scenes style. This approach caters to couples who want instant, unpolished glimpses of their big day alongside the more polished work of their hired photographers.
As a Puerto Rico wedding photographer, I’ve seen how this service has gained popularity in recent years, and this weekend gave me the perfect opportunity to test it out. Capturing moments in real-time added a fresh perspective to my usual style, and I’m excited to officially offer this as part of my services in 2025.
Reflections on a Spectacular Weekend
Reception Hall at the Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas
Liz and Manu’s wedding was not only a celebration of love but also a celebration of culture, family, and community. It reminded me why I became a wedding photographer in Puerto Rico and why I cherish documenting the most important moments in people’s lives.
Whether I’m capturing a luxury destination wedding in Houston or an intimate ceremony on the beaches of Puerto Rico, my mission remains the same: to tell love stories through a lens that blends authenticity and artistry.
To Liz and Manu, thank you for allowing me to be part of your extraordinary day—not just as a photographer but as a friend. Your wedding will forever hold a special place in my heart.
For couples seeking luxury wedding photographers, whether you’re planning a grand celebration like Liz and Manu’s or an elegant destination wedding in Puerto Rico, I’d love to be part of your story. Let’s create memories that will last a lifetime.
