Ten Best Places to Propose in Puerto Rico

Planning to propose in Puerto Rico? From the colorful streets of Old San Juan to tropical beaches, El Yunque, Culebra and luxury resorts, here are 10 beautiful places to ask the most important question of your life.

Puerto Rico is one of those places where it is almost impossible to choose a bad location for a marriage proposal.

You have colorful colonial streets, historic fortresses, secluded beaches, tropical rainforests, dramatic cliffs, luxury resorts and some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Caribbean.

But when you're planning a surprise marriage proposal, choosing a beautiful location is only part of the equation.

You also have to think about privacy, lighting, timing, accessibility, weather, crowds and, perhaps most importantly, whether the location actually feels like you.

After photographing marriage proposals throughout Puerto Rico, I've learned that the most beautiful location isn't necessarily the best location for every couple.

Some couples want the energy and architecture of Old San Juan. Others want their proposal to happen barefoot on a beach with nobody around. Some want something adventurous, while others want an elegant experience at a luxury resort.

So, if you're planning to propose in Puerto Rico and you're wondering where to ask the most important question of your life, here are 10 locations I'd seriously consider.

Old San Juan

If you want your marriage proposal to feel unmistakably Puerto Rican, it is difficult to beat Old San Juan.

The colorful Spanish colonial architecture, blue cobblestone streets, historic plazas and centuries-old walls create a backdrop that feels completely different from a typical beach proposal.

There are countless places throughout Old San Juan where a proposal can happen, which is part of what makes it so appealing. You could propose while walking through the historic streets, near one of the plazas, along the city walls or overlooking the water.

Paseo de la Princesa is another beautiful option, particularly later in the afternoon when the light begins to soften.

The biggest consideration with Old San Juan is crowds.

It is one of the most visited areas in Puerto Rico, and cruise-ship days can make some of the most popular areas surprisingly busy. If privacy is important to you, I generally recommend planning around the crowds rather than simply choosing the prettiest location you see on Instagram.

Early mornings can be particularly beautiful because the streets are quieter and the light is soft.

If your idea of a perfect proposal includes architecture, history, color and plenty of places to explore afterward, Old San Juan should be near the top of your list.

El Morro

Man proposing to woman at El Morro in Old San Juan taken by a Puerto Rico elopement wedding photographer

Few places in Puerto Rico provide a more dramatic backdrop than Castillo San Felipe del Morro.

The enormous green lawn leading toward the historic fortress opens toward the Atlantic Ocean, creating a sense of scale that is difficult to reproduce anywhere else in San Juan.

You can have the historic walls behind you, the ocean stretching toward the horizon and the two of you standing in the middle of it all.

It is cinematic.

It is also extremely recognizable.

One of the things I love about photographing proposals at El Morro is the variety of photographs you can create after the proposal itself. You're not restricted to one spot. There are walls, pathways, ocean views and architectural details that allow the session to evolve naturally after the surprise is over.

There is one important consideration: wind.

The open landscape around El Morro can be quite windy, particularly later in the day. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is something to keep in mind when planning hair, clothing and the overall experience.

And because El Morro is a National Park Service property, anyone planning a professional photography session or larger setup should verify current photography and permit requirements before the proposal.

For couples who want history, architecture and dramatic ocean views, El Morro is hard to beat.

Condado Beach

If you're staying in San Juan and want a classic Puerto Rico beach proposal, Condado is one of the easiest options.

The neighborhood gives you access to the Atlantic Ocean, beautiful hotels, restaurants, nightlife and the Condado Lagoon, all within a relatively compact area.

That convenience matters.

You can propose on the beach and then walk to dinner. You can stay at one of the nearby luxury hotels. You can even build an entire proposal experience around the neighborhood without spending the day driving around Puerto Rico.

For photography, sunrise can be particularly beautiful because the beach is generally quieter and the light is soft.

Golden hour works beautifully as well if you want warmer tones and a more dramatic sunset atmosphere.

The one thing I would keep in mind is that Condado Beach is public and can become busy. Weekday mornings generally offer more privacy than busy weekends. Current local guides similarly recommend sunrise or golden hour and note that the beach can be significantly busier on weekends.

If you're looking for a proposal that combines the beach with the convenience and sophistication of San Juan, Condado is an excellent choice.

Escambrón Beach

Escambrón is one of my favorite options for couples who want a beach proposal without feeling like they're in the middle of a major tourist district.

It is close to Old San Juan and Condado, but the scenery feels different.

You have palm trees, turquoise water, rocky formations and beautiful coastal views. Depending on where you position yourselves, you can create photographs that feel tropical and intimate without needing to travel to another part of the island.

I've photographed proposals here, and one of the things I love about Escambrón is the variety.

You can photograph the actual proposal near the beach and then continue around the area for portraits afterward. The rocks, palms and water give us several different environments within a relatively small area.

That is important because the proposal itself may last only a few seconds.

The photographs afterward are where we get to tell the rest of the story.

Escambrón can also be particularly beautiful during the late afternoon.

If you want a beach proposal with a little more texture and character than a traditional stretch of sand, Escambrón deserves serious consideration.

El Yunque National Forest

For couples who would rather trade the beach for the rainforest, El Yunque offers something completely different.

This is Puerto Rico at its most tropical.

Lush vegetation, mountain roads, waterfalls, mist, enormous trees and the sound of running water create an atmosphere that feels worlds away from San Juan.

A proposal in El Yunque is particularly appropriate for couples who love adventure and the outdoors.

Instead of dressing up for a luxury hotel or walking barefoot along a beach, you can make the proposal part of an adventure.

There are numerous scenic areas throughout the rainforest, but conditions and access can vary, so planning ahead is important. Weather can also change quickly in the mountains.

And that's something I would embrace rather than fear.

A little mist or overcast sky can make the rainforest feel even more dramatic.

El Yunque is also one of those locations where I would strongly recommend working with someone who knows the area rather than simply choosing a random location from a Google image search.

The rainforest is beautiful.

Knowing where and when to photograph it is another matter.

Cabo Rojo

Surprise marriage proposal in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico taken by a destination wedding photographer

If you want a dramatic sunset and are willing to venture toward the southwestern part of the island, Cabo Rojo is an incredible option.

The landscape here feels very different from San Juan.

Instead of colorful colonial buildings or resort beaches, you're surrounded by rugged coastline, cliffs, ocean and wide-open skies.

The Los Morrillos Lighthouse area is particularly dramatic.

This is the kind of location I'd recommend to a couple who wants the proposal itself to feel like an adventure.

You can spend part of the day exploring the area, time the proposal around sunset and then continue photographing afterward as the sky changes.

The western side of Puerto Rico is particularly well suited to sunset proposals because you're facing the direction of the setting sun.

There is something wonderfully simple about standing at the edge of the island, watching the sun disappear into the Caribbean and then asking someone to spend the rest of their life with you.

Just be mindful of the terrain and wind around exposed coastal areas.

Beautiful photographs should never come at the expense of safety.

Rincón

Couple embracing during a marriage proposal in Rincón, Puerto Rico

Rincón is another fantastic option for couples who want a relaxed, distinctly Puerto Rican experience.

The west coast has a completely different rhythm from San Juan.

Life feels slower.

The beaches are beautiful.

The sunsets can be spectacular.

And there is something particularly romantic about watching the sun disappear over the water together.

A Rincón proposal can be as simple as walking along the beach before sunset, finding a quiet stretch of sand and asking the question.

That's part of the appeal.

It doesn't have to feel overly produced.

For couples who aren't interested in a heavily orchestrated proposal and simply want a beautiful moment somewhere that feels relaxed and authentic, Rincón is an excellent choice.

The west coast also gives you plenty of opportunities for photographs after the proposal.

And if you're already planning a longer stay in Puerto Rico, spending a few days exploring the western side of the island can turn your proposal into part of a larger vacation.

Flamenco Beach, Culebra

Flamenco Beach marriage proposal taken by a destination wedding photographer in Puerto Rico

If you want to take the destination aspect seriously, why not leave the main island?

Culebra is one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful island destinations, and Flamenco Beach is arguably its most recognizable beach.

The combination of white sand, turquoise water and the surrounding landscape creates the kind of tropical backdrop many couples imagine when they picture a Caribbean proposal.

The biggest consideration here is logistics.

Culebra isn't somewhere I'd recommend visiting casually for a couple of hours and expecting everything to go perfectly.

You have transportation to think about, ferry or flight schedules, weather and the logistics of getting your photographer there.

But that's also what makes it special.

You're not simply walking down the street from your hotel to a nearby beach.

You're creating an experience around the destination.

If the two of you love traveling and want your proposal to feel like an adventure within your Puerto Rico trip, Culebra could be exactly what you're looking for.

Dorado

Dorado Beach marriage proposal captured by a luxury destination wedding photographer in Puerto Rico

For couples who prefer luxury over adventure, Dorado is an entirely different proposition.

The area is home to some of Puerto Rico's most exclusive resorts and offers beautiful beaches, tropical landscapes and a much more private resort atmosphere.

A luxury resort proposal also gives you something that a public beach cannot:

control.

You can potentially coordinate with the resort, plan dinner afterward, arrange flowers or other details and have a backup location available if the weather doesn't cooperate.

That makes a resort proposal particularly appealing to couples who want something polished and carefully planned.

And if you're staying at a luxury resort, there's no reason the proposal has to be the only part of the experience.

You can turn the entire day into an occasion.

Breakfast.

A spa treatment.

A private beach walk.

The proposal.

Champagne.

Dinner.

And photographs documenting all of it.

That's where a proposal becomes more than simply asking a question.

It becomes an experience.

Palomino Island

Surprise marriage proposal in Palomino and Icacos Island taken by a Puerto Rico wedding photographer

For something a little more secluded and exclusive, Palomino Island is another option worth considering.

Located off the coast of Fajardo and associated with El Conquistador Resort, Palomino gives couples the opportunity to combine a resort stay with a beautiful island setting.

This is especially appealing if you're already staying at the resort and want to make the proposal part of the vacation rather than leaving the property to find a location.

The island gives you beaches, water and tropical scenery, while the resort provides the infrastructure to build everything around the proposal.

This is one of those situations where I would strongly recommend planning the entire sequence rather than thinking only about the exact moment when the ring comes out.

Where are you going beforehand?

What will you do afterward?

Where will you have dinner?

Where will your photographer meet you?

What happens if the weather changes?

When you have those details figured out, the actual proposal becomes much easier.

And that's really the secret to a great surprise proposal.

The person being surprised shouldn't feel like they're participating in an elaborate production.

Everything should feel effortless.

So, Where Should You Propose in Puerto Rico?

Marriage proposal photographer at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve in Puerto Ricoi

There isn't one perfect proposal location in Puerto Rico.

And honestly, I don't think there should be.

The right location depends entirely on who you are as a couple.

If you love architecture and history, choose Old San Juan.

If you want something dramatic, consider El Morro.

If you want a convenient beach proposal in San Juan, look at Condado.

If you want something tropical and intimate, consider Escambrón.

If you're adventurous, El Yunque may be the answer.

If sunsets are your thing, look toward Cabo Rojo or Rincón.

If you want an island adventure, consider Culebra.

If luxury and convenience are important, Dorado or Palomino Island may make more sense.

The location should complement the experience rather than dictate it.

And Don't Forget About the Photography

This is where I think the photographer becomes much more important than most people realize.

A surprise proposal isn't simply a portrait session.

The photographer has to know where to stand without being noticed.

We have to understand the light.

We have to know what happens if another couple walks into the frame.

We have to anticipate the moment rather than react to it.

And once the question has been asked and the answer is yes, we have to transition almost instantly from hiding to photographing the two of you.

That requires planning.

Before a proposal, I typically want to know as much as possible about the plan.

Where are you staying?

What are you doing beforehand?

What will your partner be wearing?

What time are you arriving?

What does your partner think you're doing?

What happens immediately after?

The more I know, the easier it becomes for me to make the proposal feel completely natural.

And that's ultimately what I want.

Not a photograph that looks like you were told where to stand.

A photograph that looks like you were simply living one of the most important moments of your life.

Planning a Proposal in Puerto Rico?

If you're traveling to Puerto Rico specifically to propose, I'd love to help you plan the experience.

I've photographed marriage proposals throughout the island, and I can help you choose a location based on the type of experience you're looking for, the time of day, the light, privacy and what you want to do after the proposal.

Because the best proposal isn't necessarily the one at the most famous location.

It's the one that feels like you.

And when the moment comes, all you really have to do is ask.

How to Have an Authentic Puerto Rico Marriage Proposal: Your Photographer Should Document Your Love, Not Change It

Your Puerto Rico marriage proposal should look and feel like you. Discover why authentic proposal photography means embracing your natural personalities, connection, affection, and the unique way you love each other.

Woman embracing man during an engagement session after a surprise marriage proposal in Puerto Rico at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve

My job is to exemplify WHO you are as your marriage proposal photographer in Puerto Rico.

There is a mistake I see photographers make over and over again when photographing couples, engagement sessions, and marriage proposals. It is a mistake that often comes from the best of intentions, especially when the photographer has already developed a recognizable style and knows exactly what kind of images they want to create.

We try to change the couple.

We see two people standing in front of our cameras, and instead of observing who they naturally are together, we begin trying to mold them into something that we believe will make our art look better.

We ask them to kiss. We ask them to get closer. We tell them to touch. We tell them to look at each other. We encourage more affection, more emotion, more intimacy. We try to recreate the same kind of photographs we have seen in our portfolios, on Instagram, on Pinterest, or in the work of photographers we admire.

And sometimes, those photographs are beautiful.

But there is a problem.

Not Every Couple Loves the Same Way

Editorial portrait of an engagement ring during a marriage proposal in Puerto Rico taken by a destination wedding photographer

Puerto Rico marriage proposals hit different.

In a perfect world, I would have every couple I photograph be kissy-kissy, touchy-feely, and lovey-dovey. My photography thrives on intimacy and affection. I love photographing couples who naturally gravitate toward each other, who constantly touch, laugh, kiss, embrace, and show their love without even thinking about it.

Those couples are incredible to photograph.

But I have made peace with the fact that not every couple is this way.

And honestly, that is one of the most important lessons I have learned as a photographer.

Some couples are naturally affectionate and physically expressive. Some are playful. Some are quiet. Some are introverted. Some are incredibly comfortable with each other but become awkward the moment a professional camera is pointed at them.

Others prefer a more private way of expressing their affection. They may not be the kind of couple who constantly kiss in public or hang all over each other. Their relationship may be defined by subtle touches, inside jokes, stolen glances, laughter, the way one of them naturally reaches for the other's hand, or simply the peace they feel when they are together.

None of those things make their relationship less meaningful.

They simply make it theirs.

The Couple Is Not the Problem

Editorial black and white portrait of a woman during the engagement session of her surprise marriage proposal in Escambrón Beach, Puerto Rico

“You do you” also applies to your marriage proposal in Puerto Rico.

This is where photographers sometimes get it wrong.

When a couple feels awkward in front of the camera, our instinct can be to "fix" them. We may assume they need more direction. We may tell them how to stand, how to touch, how to kiss, how to walk, how to look at each other, or how to behave more romantically.

But what if the couple is not actually doing anything wrong?

What if they are simply being themselves?

The problem may not be that they are awkward. The problem may be that we are asking them to perform a version of intimacy that doesn't belong to them.

That distinction matters tremendously when you are photographing something as personal as a marriage proposal.

A marriage proposal in Puerto Rico can be intimate, emotional, adventurous, romantic, spontaneous, quiet, playful, or all of those things at once. The couple should not have to step into a completely different personality simply because their photographer has a particular aesthetic in mind.

Your Photography Should Serve the Couple

Editorial black and white portrait of a man proposing to a woman during an engagement session in Puerto Rico

It takes two when dancing tango during marriage proposals in Puerto Rico.

As photographers, we often think about our art first.

We think about composition. We think about light. We think about the location. We think about the lens we are using. We think about our editing style. We think about the image we want to create.

Those things matter. Of course they do.

But the couple should matter more.

The purpose of photographing a couple is not to turn them into models. It is not to make them conform to our portfolio. It is not to recreate somebody else's idea of what romance is supposed to look like.

Our job is to recognize what makes these two people unique and then create an environment where that uniqueness can come through.

That means paying attention.

It means observing how they naturally interact with one another. It means noticing who initiates physical affection. It means recognizing whether they are playful or reserved. It means understanding whether they feel comfortable being touched, kissed, hugged, or photographed in an intimate way.

And most importantly, it means giving them permission to be themselves.

There Is a Difference Between Directing and Changing Someone

Black and white portrait of a couple kissing during their surprise marriage proposal in Puerto Rico taken by a destination wedding photographer

As your marriage proposal photographer in Puerto Rico, all I’d want you to be is yourself.

This does not mean photographers should simply stand back and do nothing.

There is absolutely a place for direction in couple photography, engagement photography, wedding photography, and marriage proposal photography. Most couples are not professional models, and many have never had professional photographs taken together before.

They may need help with positioning. They may need encouragement. They may need something to do with their hands. They may need prompts that create genuine interactions rather than asking them to "act romantic."

That is very different from trying to change their personality.

There is a difference between saying, "Walk together and tell each other the story of how you met," and saying, "I need you to be more affectionate."

There is a difference between creating an opportunity for intimacy and demanding intimacy.

There is a difference between helping someone relax and forcing them to perform.

The first approach allows the couple to reveal themselves. The second asks them to become someone else.

Think About What the Photographs Will Feel Like Years From Now

Black and white portrait of a couple kissing during their engagement session taken by a Puerto Rico marriage proposal photographer

Forever can start here in Puerto Rico after your surprise marriage proposal.

This becomes even more important when we consider why couples hire professional photographers in the first place.

They are not simply buying pretty pictures.

They are investing in a record of their relationship.

A marriage proposal captures one of the most emotional moments of a couple's lives. It documents the anticipation, the surprise, the nervousness, the realization of what is happening, the question itself, and the emotional reaction that follows.

Years from now, those photographs should feel like them.

They should look at an image and remember how they actually felt. They should remember the way they laughed together. The way one of them looked at the other. The nervousness. The excitement. The shock. The tears. The quiet moments. The ridiculous moments. The tenderness. The little things that nobody else would understand.

What they should not feel is that they are looking at photographs of two people they were pretending to be.

An Authentic Puerto Rico Marriage Proposal Should Feel Like You

Woman embracing man in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico during a marriage proposal on the beach

A marriage proposal photographer in Puerto Rico can ultimately shoot your wedding as well!

This is especially meaningful when talking about marriage proposals in Puerto Rico.

Couples travel here because they want an experience. They want the beauty of the island, the warmth, the landscapes, the ocean, the architecture, the food, the culture, and the feeling of escaping the ordinary.

Whether the proposal takes place on one of Puerto Rico's beautiful beaches, in Old San Juan, in the mountains, at a luxury resort, or somewhere completely private, the experience should be about the couple.

Your proposal photographer should be documenting that experience, not manufacturing a performance inside it.

Maybe you're the couple that cannot stop kissing.

Fantastic.

Maybe you're the couple that laughs constantly but rarely shows affection in front of other people.

Also fantastic.

Maybe you're both introverts and the idea of spending an hour being told to kiss on command sounds absolutely terrible.

That's okay too.

Your marriage proposal should reflect the people actually standing there.

Photograph the Couple You Have, Not the Couple You Wish You Had

Couple kissing after a marriage proposal in Condado, Puerto Rico

My job isn’t to change who you are as a marriage proposal photographer in Puerto Rico.

I have always believed that photographers should lean into what makes their clients unique rather than trying to erase those differences.

If a couple is naturally affectionate, I want to give them the freedom to embrace that.

If they are playful, I want to make room for that.

If they are quiet, I want to create space for that.

If they are awkward, I want to work with the awkwardness instead of pretending it does not exist.

If they are uncomfortable with public displays of affection, I am not going to force them into one simply because I think it will make a better photograph.

Because sometimes the most beautiful photograph is not the one with the most dramatic kiss, the most elaborate pose, or the most obvious display of affection.

Sometimes it is a glance.

Sometimes it is a smile that lasts half a second.

Sometimes it is the way they hold hands.

Sometimes it is the way one person looks at the other when they think nobody is watching.

Those moments may not fit a formula, but they often tell us far more about a relationship than a perfectly executed pose ever could.

The Most Important Moment Should Still Feel Like Yours

Puerto Rico marriage proposal photographer at the beach documenting an engagement session

Marriage proposals in Puerto Rico should accentuate who you are.

A marriage proposal is one of those rare moments in life that cannot truly be recreated.

Once you ask the question, everything changes.

That is precisely why the photography should feel genuine.

You should not have to become somebody else in front of the camera.

You should not have to worry about whether you're "good" at taking pictures.

You should not have to compare yourselves to another couple.

And you should not have to perform romance for the sake of your photographer's portfolio.

The person photographing your Puerto Rico marriage proposal should understand that his or her job is not to change you. It is to see you.

That requires technical skill, certainly. It requires experience with posing, lighting, composition, storytelling, and working under pressure. But it also requires empathy and observation.

The best photographs often happen when people stop trying to look like photographs.

Your Love Story Doesn't Need to Look Like Anyone Else's

Couple embracing at El Morro during their marriage proposal in Puerto Rico taken by a destination wedding photographer

Be yourselves and I’ll take care of the rest as your marriage proposal photographer in Puerto Rico

There is no single correct way for a couple to look in love.

There is no formula for intimacy.

There is no required amount of kissing, touching, laughing, posing, or physical affection that makes a relationship photograph-worthy.

Your relationship has its own language.

A great photographer learns that language.

So, whether you are planning a beach marriage proposal in Puerto Rico, an intimate proposal in Old San Juan, a surprise proposal at a luxury resort, or a private proposal somewhere completely unexpected, choose a photographer who understands the difference between directing a photograph and directing your personality.

Because at the end of the day, photographers have no business trying to change someone's personality on the day of a photoshoot.

We should be documenting couples exactly as they are.

Not the couple we wish they were.

Not the couple we saw on Pinterest.

Not the couple we think will make our portfolio look better.

Them.

Because your love story already looks good.

It just needs to be seen.

David & Vanessa’s Romantic Escambrón Beach Proposal | Puerto Rico Proposal Photographer

David and Vanessa’s love story began in the fourth grade and, thirteen years later, led to an intimate sunset proposal at Escambrón Beach in Puerto Rico. Discover how this emotional engagement unfolded through candid storytelling, heartfelt moments and cinematic portraiture in San Juan.

Couple embracing during romantic beach proposal at sunset in Puerto Rico

Thirteen years later…and forever officially begins.

There’s something profoundly beautiful about photographing a couple whose love story began long before adulthood ever entered the picture. In an era where relationships can sometimes feel fleeting, David and Vanessa reminded me what commitment truly looks like. Their story started in the fourth grade. Not high school. Not college. Fourth grade. When David initially told me they had known each other since “school,” I admittedly assumed he meant university. Instead, they had quite literally grown up together. Over the course of thirteen years, they built a relationship rooted in familiarity, loyalty, patience and deep emotional connection. Naturally, when the time finally came to propose, David wanted every detail to feel intentional and authentic to who they are as a couple.

David first contacted me from a Washington state phone number with a 360 area code, though he explained they are currently living in Oregon. Originally from Mexico, David shared that Vanessa is also Mexican, though she was born in the United States. Like many destination clients who travel to Puerto Rico for meaningful life moments, he wanted guidance from someone local who understood not only photography but the emotional rhythm of a successful surprise proposal. More importantly, he emphasized one thing repeatedly: Vanessa preferred intimacy over spectacle. She wasn’t looking for a public performance or an overproduced setup. She wanted something private, heartfelt and emotionally genuine.

Man proposing to girlfriend during golden hour at Escambrón Beach

The easiest “yes” after thirteen beautiful years together.

Without hesitation, I recommended Escambrón Beach. Over the years, it has become one of my favorite locations for marriage proposals in Puerto Rico because it offers everything necessary for a cinematic yet intimate experience. There’s a wide stretch of grass perfect for movement and candid interaction. The rocky shoreline creates visual depth and texture. Waves crash dramatically against the stones while the skyline of San Juan slowly begins glowing as sunset approaches. Most importantly, Escambrón has enough versatility to provide privacy while still delivering breathtaking scenery.

David trusted my vision immediately and we began planning the logistics together. Prior to proposal day, I sent him a detailed video showing exactly where I wanted him to position himself for the proposal. Specifically, there’s a large green bush near the grassy section that acts as a subtle visual anchor in photographs while also helping me anticipate movement and framing. I always encourage proposers to remain discreet with their phones throughout the experience because excessive texting or visibly checking messages can quickly make a partner suspicious. To David’s credit, he handled everything flawlessly. After receiving my instructions, all I got back was a simple thumbs-up emoji. Efficient. Calm. Under control.

Emotional engagement photos captured along Puerto Rico coastline

Capturing unscripted love stories is why I do this.

On the evening of the proposal, I arrived early carrying nothing more than a beach lawn chair and my camera gear. I quietly positioned myself near the area where everything would unfold and waited patiently as golden hour slowly began painting the landscape with warm light. Around 6 p.m., I spotted David and Vanessa making their way up from the rocky terrain near the parking area toward the grass. At one point, David briefly glanced in my direction without Vanessa noticing, silently acknowledging that our carefully orchestrated plan was now in motion.

I noticed David carrying a gray blanket, which I assumed they planned on using while relaxing by the water. Immediately, I began photographing the smaller in-between moments that many people overlook but that I personally believe are essential to storytelling. I photographed them laying down the blanket, slipping off their shoes and settling into the environment together. Those seemingly ordinary interactions matter tremendously because they establish emotional context. They show the anticipation before the proposal itself. They show comfort. Familiarity. Ease. These are the images that transform a proposal gallery into a narrative rather than just a sequence of isolated moments.

Couple walking barefoot on beach after successful marriage proposal

Escambrón Beach delivered magic once again.

As the sun began descending lower into the horizon, David slowly guided Vanessa toward the exact location we had discussed beforehand. Judging by Vanessa’s body language, she sensed what was about to happen. Honestly, after thirteen years together, I think part of her heart already knew this moment had been coming for a long time. Later, she jokingly mentioned that their relationship had already lasted longer than some marriages, which made everyone laugh. Yet beneath the humor was a truth that made the proposal even more meaningful: this wasn’t impulsive love. This was enduring love.

    Then came the moment itself.

David got down on one knee as waves crashed softly in the background and the Puerto Rico sunset wrapped the entire scene in warmth. Vanessa’s reaction was immediate and emotional. After her enthusiastic “yes,” she practically melted into his arms in disbelief. She couldn’t stop staring at the ring and, at one point, bounced around with the kind of pure excitement usually reserved for childhood joy. It was wholesome in the truest sense of the word.

Couple embracing during romantic beach proposal at sunset in Puerto Rico

From classmates to soulmates.

This is precisely why I love photographing marriage proposals so much. They are perhaps the single most unscripted romantic moment in a couple’s life. Weddings, while beautiful, often follow structured timelines and carefully curated schedules. Proposals are different. They exist in real time. Emotions spill out naturally. There are no rehearsals. No second takes. Just raw human connection unfolding organically in front of the camera.

Once the emotions settled slightly, I finally walked over and officially introduced myself to David in person for the first time. That’s actually fairly common in my line of work because most of my proposal clients are destination couples visiting Puerto Rico from all over the world. Vanessa was still glowing with excitement and could barely contain herself, which made it the perfect time to transition into what I call “intimate portraiture.”

Romantic sunset portraits of engaged couple at Escambrón Beach

Intimate proposals will always have my heart.

I strongly believe the portraits taken immediately after a proposal are often the most emotionally authentic photographs of the entire session. The emotions are still fresh in their faces. Their body language remains naturally affectionate and unguarded. During this portion of the shoot, I frequently use the short lighting technique, positioning myself opposite the primary light source so the shadow side of the face becomes more prominent. In this case, the setting sun acted as my natural light source and beautifully sculpted their features while maintaining softness and dimensionality.

Before arriving at the session, I had actually spent some time browsing Pinterest for inspiration because I instinctively felt David and Vanessa were going to photograph beautifully together. Thankfully, they fully embraced the creative process. Throughout the portrait session, I occasionally showed them the back of my camera so they could better understand the mood, prompts and poses I envisioned for them. They were incredibly receptive and collaborative, which allowed us to create images that felt both editorial and emotionally grounded at the same time.

Golden hour proposal photography session in San Juan Puerto Rico

Capturing unscripted love stories is why I do this.

As if the evening couldn’t get any better, Puerto Rico delivered one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen in quite some time. The sky exploded with color and instantly transformed the atmosphere around us. Knowing we had limited time left with ideal conditions, I quickly pulled out my flashes and began experimenting creatively with the remaining light. Combining artificial lighting with the vibrant sunset tones allowed me to create dramatic imagery that still maintained the warmth and intimacy of the moment.

By the end of the session, I genuinely felt connected to both David and Vanessa. That’s another aspect of proposal photography that I deeply value. It’s not just about taking photographs. It’s about learning who people are. Understanding their journey. Observing their personalities and dynamic together. In many ways, proposals become an accelerated emotional introduction between photographer and couple.

Romantic engagement portraits on beach rocks near crashing waves

Puerto Rico sunsets and a lifetime ahead together.

As a fun side note, I also discovered they’re both huge Seattle Seahawks fans. Naturally, I jokingly told them that this now gives me yet another reason to hopefully photograph their wedding someday because I certainly wouldn’t mind visiting the Pacific Northwest again.

Icacos Island Proposal in Puerto Rico | Luxury Boat Engagement from Fajardo

A breathtaking surprise proposal at Icacos Island, Puerto Rico—planned on a boat from Fajardo and captured in golden hour perfection.

Couple kissing on Icacos Island after a surprise marriage proposal in Puerto Rico

Romantic portraits on the beaches of Icacos.

Janee, a young woman from Los Angeles, California, reached out to me with a very specific mission. Her close friend Edward was planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Lupita, and Puerto Rico was the destination.

We jumped on a call to talk through the vision, and right away I knew this was going to be something special. They were considering a boat ride from Fajardo to Icacos Island—a remote, stunning cay off Puerto Rico’s east coast. The plan was simple but beautiful: snorkel, relax, and then find the perfect sandbar moment for Edward to get down on one knee.

I was all in.

The moments before the proposal are just as important.

They booked their experience with Snorkeling Puerto Rico, a charter company known for turning a boat ride into a full-on vibe—music, drinks, food, and a crew that keeps the energy up the entire way.

Fast forward to proposal day.

I arrived in Fajardo about 45 minutes early and checked in with Edward, only to find out they had hit unexpected traffic. No problem. I connected with the boat company, explained who I was and what I was there to do, and they coordinated everything with the crew. Our boat for the day was called The Kraken, led by Ricardo, with Elly, Georgie, and the rest of the team helping out.

The exact moment he got down on one knee.

To stay lowkey, I picked a seat near the bathrooms—out of the way, minimal attention. Ironically, Lupita ended up sitting right next to me. Thankfully, she stayed busy chatting with friends the entire ride, because I definitely didn’t have a backup story ready if she started asking questions.

Edward and I kept in touch by text throughout the ride. Once we reached Icacos, the plan kicked into motion.

At around 4:30 p.m., I got off the boat ahead of everyone else to scout the perfect proposal spot. I came across an old, narrow pier, but it felt too risky and impractical. As I moved further down the beach, I found it—a semi-secluded stretch of sand near where jet skis were dropping people off. It had just enough privacy, and more importantly, the sun would fall perfectly behind them.

To the victor goes the spoils!

That was the spot.

With the little signal we had left, I texted Edward: I drew a big “X” in the sand so he’d know exactly where to go. He reacted with a thumbs-up, and we locked in 5:00 p.m. as go-time.

I got into position first, playing the role of a casual landscape photographer—hiding in plain sight. Only their friends knew who I was, so everything stayed under control.

Then I saw them walking toward me.

She said yes—pure joy on the shoreline.

Camera up, settings dialed in, light shifting between sun and clouds… and then a funny moment—Edward suddenly turns around mid-walk. He had forgotten the ring with his friend Chris. Nerves will do that.

Once he got it, he walked Lupita over to the “X,” took her hands, looked her in the eyes, and said everything he needed to say. A few seconds later, he was down on one knee, opening the box to the ring she’d been waiting for.

She said yes.

A just-engaged glow in golden hour light.

Immediately, their friends rushed in, celebrating like their team had just won a championship. I captured it all—the raw reactions, the hugs, the chaos in the best way possible.

Afterward, I grabbed some group photos, a few shots with friends, and then pulled the couple aside for a dedicated session. For the next 45 minutes, we created some really powerful images. Chris stepped in as my assistant, helping me boom my flash so I could balance the natural light with a more dramatic, editorial feel.

By 6:00 p.m., we were back on The Kraken heading toward shore.

Ending the day with unforgettable memories at sea.

Once we docked, I congratulated Edward and Lupita, said my goodbyes, and made my way home.

Huge shoutout to Snorkeling Puerto Rico for helping me blend in seamlessly and making the entire experience feel effortless. If you’re thinking about proposing in Icacos Island, this is easily one of the best ways to do it.

A Wind-Swept Surprise Proposal in Ocean Park, Puerto Rico

A surprise proposal along the shores of Ocean Park, Puerto Rico brings together intention, emotion, and impeccable timing. With the help of I Do Proposal, Austin planned a heartfelt beach proposal that Bailey never saw coming—resulting in a deeply emotional and cinematic moment captured in real time.

When the moment feels effortless, the memories last forever.

Some proposals are meticulously planned down to the second. Others feel like a leap of faith—equal parts excitement, nerves, and love. Austin and Bailey’s surprise marriage proposal in Puerto Rico was both.

I was brought on by I Do Proposal, an up-and-coming marriage proposal planning company here in Puerto Rico, to photograph a heartfelt surprise proposal along the shores of Ocean Park. Their client, Austin, had one goal in mind: ask his longtime girlfriend, Bailey, to spend forever with him—somewhere unforgettable.

From Georgia to Puerto Rico: A Shared Beginning

Marriage proposal photography in Condado, Puerto Rico

A quiet beach, a deep breath, and one life-changing question.

The morning of the proposal, I reached out to Austin to go over final details. His phone number started with a 404 area code, one I know all too well. It turns out Austin and Bailey are from Georgia, a state where I once lived when I first moved to the U.S. That unexpected connection instantly broke the ice.

Austin works in cybersecurity, Bailey at a hospital back home, and the two have been inseparable for nearly six years. Like many couples, their journey has been built on shared growth, stability, and genuine companionship—exactly the kind of foundation that makes proposal days so emotionally charged.

The Location: Yardley Street Beach Access, Condado

Wind in the air, love everywhere.

While Ocean Park was the original vision, Katherinne, owner of I Do Proposal, selected Yardley Street in Condado for its discreet beach access and generous space. The entrance opens directly onto the sand, making it ideal for a private setup without feeling isolated—especially important for surprise proposals.

That afternoon, the wind was relentless, which meant timing was everything. The decor—minimalist and intentional—consisted of a circle of red roses near the water, rose petals inside the circle, and a chilled bottle of champagne with flutes waiting nearby. We waited until the very last second to place the final petals to keep them from scattering across the beach.

A Perfectly Executed Proposal

She said yes, and the world stood still.

Before the proposal, I gave Austin the usual rundown: where to stand, what to do, and—just as importantly—what not to do. No matter how many proposals I photograph (and I’ve shot over forty this year alone), the nerves never disappear. Asking someone to spend the rest of their life with you is a monumental moment.

As Austin and Bailey approached, everything fell into place.

Austin gently positioned Bailey against the wind, an often-overlooked detail that makes a world of difference. Hair flying forward during the proposal moment can block reactions and emotions on camera—something I always coach proposers on. He even remembered to carefully tuck her hair behind her ear at just the right moment.

Bailey’s reaction was pure, emotional, and completely unguarded. She didn’t see it coming at all.

After the “Yes”

Couple opening a champagne bottle after their surprise marriage proposal in Puerto Rico.

Emotion over perfection—always.

Once the initial wave of emotions settled and I knew I had the proposal documented exactly as it deserved, I stepped in to introduce myself—usually to a newly engaged partner who is either overwhelmed with emotion or still processing what just happened.

This time, it was both.

Austin exhaled what felt like six years’ worth of anticipation, and we transitioned seamlessly into portraits. These two were a dream to photograph—affectionate, playful, and entirely wrapped up in each other. Their energy aligned perfectly with my approach to proposal photography: intimate, passionate, and real.

As the sun dipped lower, I closed out the session with flash photography, adding a cinematic edge to an already unforgettable moment. When couples are this present with each other, they forget the camera exists—and that’s when the magic happens.

Why Puerto Rico Is the Perfect Place to Propose

A couple embracing in Puerto Rico during a surprise marriage proposal at the beach.

A surprise proposal done right feels timeless.

Ocean Park and Condado offer a rare combination of tropical beauty, accessibility, and privacy. Pair that with a thoughtful planner and intentional photography, and you’re left with something far more meaningful than a simple “yes.”

Austin and Bailey’s proposal wasn’t just a question—it was a chapter. And I was honored to document it.

How to Capture the Perfect Marriage Proposal in Puerto Rico

Planning to propose in Puerto Rico? With over 30 proposals photographed in the past nine months, I specialize in creating luxury, stress-free experiences for couples who want nothing but the best. From the first consultation to the final gallery, every detail is crafted to capture your story with authenticity and elegance.

Couple during their engagement session after their marriage proposal in Puerto Rico

Sunset beach proposal in Puerto Rico — the perfect golden hour moment.

As a wedding and proposal photographer in Puerto Rico, I’ve had the honor of documenting more than 30 marriage proposals in the past nine months alone. Each proposal is unique, but the goal remains the same: to capture the moment authentically, beautifully, and without stress. Whether it’s a surprise proposal on the beach or an elaborate setup with decorations, my job is to make sure everything is seamless from start to finish.

Step 1: The First Connection

Couple kissing during their marriage proposal in Puerto Rico

A romantic kneel on the sand with the Caribbean waves as a backdrop.

When I receive an inquiry through my website, the very first step is to set up a virtual meeting. Most of my clients live outside Puerto Rico — in the U.S., South America, or Europe — so this call is crucial. It’s not just about logistics; it’s about breaking the ice, putting a face to the name, and building trust before we dive into the details.

During this call, I ask questions like “Where did you meet?” or “How long have you been dating?” These may sound simple, but they allow me to create a tailor-made experience. More importantly, they help my clients feel valued, appreciated, and heard. Proposals can be nerve-wracking, and it’s my responsibility to ease that tension from the start.

Step 2: Crafting a Customized Proposal Quote

Golden hour engagement session during a marriage proposal in Puerto Rico

She said yes! Pure joy captured during a surprise proposal in San Juan.

Once I have all the details, I prepare a customized proposal quote that includes everything they need — and nothing they don’t. I deliver this within 48 hours because I know the anticipation is already high.

My most popular offerings include coverage of the proposal itself followed by an engagement session. I also offer video services, as many couples love to share their big news with family and friends on social media. More often than not, clients select hybrid photo and video coverage for the best of both worlds.

Step 3: Securing the Date

Engagement session in Old San Juan during a marriage proposal in Puerto Rico

Intimate proposal setup with champagne and a private beach view.

Once the couple selects their preferred package, the next step is to secure the date. I quickly send over a personalized packet of literature, which includes the contract and invoice. A 50% retainer serves both as a deposit and as a retainer — once received, the date is locked exclusively for them. This is important because marriage proposals require precise timing, and my commitment to only one couple per day ensures that they receive my full attention.

Securing the date also allows me to begin any advance preparation, whether that’s scouting locations, checking weather conditions, or coordinating with decorators and planners if needed. Affluent couples who want a luxury experience appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing their proposal is already prioritized on my calendar. The earlier we finalize, the more we can refine the logistics without feeling rushed.

Step 4: Planning the Logistics

A quiet oceanfront corner, chosen for privacy and breathtaking views.

As the proposal date approaches, we hop on another virtual call or phone meeting to finalize logistics. The location is key, and in Puerto Rico, beaches are often the top choice. Together, we find a spot that’s intimate, scenic, and not overcrowded during golden hour. This ensures privacy and avoids distractions in the background of the photos.

For surprise proposals, I also work with clients to create a subtle “non-verbal cue.” This might be taking off sunglasses, rubbing a beard, or another small gesture to let me know the exact moment they’re about to drop down on one knee.

Step 5: Capturing the Big Moment

Engagement portraits by the water after the big “yes.”

When the moment arrives, I use a long telephoto lens to keep a respectful distance while still capturing the raw emotion of the proposal. Once the question is asked and answered, I step in to introduce myself and meet the other half of the couple. After giving them a few minutes to soak it in, I begin the engagement session.

Step 6: The Engagement Session

Flash photography during Golden Hour engagement session in Puerto Rico

Dramatic sunset flash photography for unforgettable proposal portraits.

Every couple has a different vibe — some are fun and adventurous, while others prefer a quieter, more intimate approach. My job is to adapt to their personalities so the session feels natural rather than forced. I often start with candid portraits of them enjoying the aftermath of the proposal: admiring the ring, FaceTiming loved ones, or savoring a champagne toast.

From there, we ease into more creative portraits. Many couples love the opportunity to take advantage of Puerto Rico’s natural beauty, so I often incorporate the ocean, palm trees, or dramatic rock formations. Getting their feet in the sand or water makes the photos timeless and tied to the island’s essence. I also like to experiment with compositions, giving my couples a mix of classic portraits and editorial-inspired imagery.

Finally, I save the most epic shots for sunset. Flash photography during golden hour allows me to create striking, cinematic portraits with vibrant skies and glowing colors. These images often become their favorites — the exclamation point to their story.

Step 7: Editing & Delivery

Couple embracing during their engagement session after a marriage proposal in Puerto Rico

Luxury proposal photography in Puerto Rico — capturing the beginning of forever.

The very next day, I back up all images and begin the editing process while the magic is still fresh. Backing up immediately ensures their memories are safe — because when it comes to once-in-a-lifetime moments, you can never be too careful. I like to start editing right away because the energy and emotion of the day inspire how I approach each image.

Depending on the package, couples may receive a 24–48 hour turnaround, perfect for announcing their engagement quickly. Having their gallery ready so soon allows them to share the excitement with family and friends almost immediately. Affluent couples especially value this speed, as they often want their announcement to be just as polished as the moment itself.

I carefully curate each gallery so that it tells the complete story — from the anticipation, to the proposal itself, to the celebration afterward. My editing style balances authenticity with artistry, creating timeless images that will look as beautiful 20 years from now as they do today. Delivering the gallery is not the end of the process; it’s the beginning of how my couples relive their proposal over and over again.

Step 8: Beyond the Proposal

Emotional reaction during a luxury marriage proposal in Puerto Rico.

As a token of gratitude, I extend a special offer to couples who hire me again for their wedding: I waive all travel fees. By the time the wedding comes around, they already have a photographer who knows their story, understands their preferences, and has built a natural rapport with them. This makes a huge difference on wedding day.

Final Thoughts

Engagement portraits by the water after the big “yes.”

For me, shooting proposals in Puerto Rico is both an art and a science. I’ve refined my approach to make it stress-free, personalized, and unforgettable for every couple. Whether it’s a surprise beach proposal or a styled celebration with décor, my mission is to preserve this milestone in a way that feels authentic and timeless.

If you’re planning to propose in Puerto Rico and want to make sure every detail is captured flawlessly, I’d be honored to help you tell your story.

A Surprise Marriage Proposal in Culebra, Puerto Rico

A surprise proposal in Culebra, Puerto Rico turns into a magical, adventure-filled day for a Texas couple. Read how this beach engagement—complete with a secret cue, sargassum scouting, and a coffee shop coincidence—unfolded through the lens of a destination proposal photographer.

Surprise marriage proposal at Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico

Flamenco Beach, Puerto Rico

About two months ago, I received a message through my website from Jared, a thoughtful guy from Texas who had something big in the works. He and his longtime girlfriend, Ashley, were planning a trip to Puerto Rico—and he wanted to turn their vacation into something unforgettable: a surprise marriage proposal.

As a wedding and proposal photographer based here on the island, moments like these are a highlight of my work. But when the stakes rise to the level of flying to a separate island municipality to pull it off? That’s a double win for me. Documenting destination proposals is a privilege I never take lightly.

Choosing Culebra: Off the Beaten Path

Surprise marriage proposal at Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico

The big moment at Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico

Jared was drawn to Culebra, a small, picturesque island just off the east coast of Puerto Rico known for its beaches and laid-back vibe. Accessible only by plane or ferry, it’s the kind of place where time slows down and nature steals the show. It’s also one of my favorite proposal spots when couples are looking for something unique and secluded.

We jumped on a few planning calls, going over everything from timing and wardrobe to signal issues and cues. Part of my service to Jared included arriving on the island early to scout potential proposal spots and send him options. I wanted everything to be seamless.

Scouting the Best Beaches (And Dealing with Sargassum)

Panorama of Culebra, Puerto Rico before a marriage proposal

Culebra, Puerto Rico

A few days before their arrival, I hopped on a small plane and began exploring Culebra by golf cart—yes, golf cart. It’s the local way of getting around if you’re not actually from there. The mission? To find a proposal location worthy of their story.

But there was one curveball: sargassum.

This seaweed-like algae had taken over almost every major beach. Flamenco Beach, often ranked as one of the top five beaches in the world, wasn’t spared. Neither were Zoni, Soldado, or Melones. Each one had its own beauty, but either the seaweed, rocky shorelines, or harsh lighting made them less than ideal.

Eventually, after several hours of exploring, Jared and I found a tucked-away spot on the far right end of Flamenco Beach. It was private, beautifully lit in the late afternoon, and the water was clear of sargassum. I flagged it as the winner and began preparing the logistics for our Golden Hour shoot.

An Unexpected Coffee Shop Encounter

She said yes at Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico

On the day of the proposal, I had a few hours to kill before our 6 p.m. meet-up. I stopped by a cozy café called Culebra Coffee, just walking distance from the ferry station. I ordered an avocado toast with hummus and started chatting with one of the employees, Anita.

As we made small talk, I mentioned I was a photographer in town to shoot a surprise proposal later that day. And then—in walks Jared and Ashley.

I gave Anita a quick wide-eyed look that screamed, “Don’t say anything!” She caught on immediately. Don and Randy, the other shop employees, were doing their best not to laugh. And there I was, sitting next to Ashley, trying to keep a straight face while she placed her order. It was a surreal moment. Jared and I texted each other from across the room, cracking up at how small the island really is.

Crossing Paths Again (and Again)

After brunch, I resumed scouting. I gave Melones another look, but its rocky terrain made it a no-go for dropping to one knee. Zoni had poor lighting. Soldado? More sargassum. Flamenco still stood as the best option.

Meanwhile, Jared and Ashley were exploring the island on their own golf cart—and we kept accidentally running into each other. We passed several times on the road. Ashley must’ve thought I was some kind of creeper. Little did she know I was actually her photographer, waiting for the big moment.

Showtime at Flamenco Beach

We locked in our plan: Golden Hour at Flamenco.

I got there early and approached a few nearby beachgoers—a Spanish family and an Italian couple—asking kindly if they could move slightly out of the frame. They were incredibly gracious, and we ended up chatting. (I’m currently learning Italian, so it was a fun exchange.) I snapped a photo of the chosen proposal spot and sent it to Jared. The only problem? My phone had no signal.

I had to sprint all the way back to the main entrance of Flamenco Beach just to get a single bar of reception. After a three-minute struggle, the photo finally went through. Jared now knew exactly where to go. I raced back to my hiding spot in the foliage, positioned my camera, and waited.

The Proposal

The light was amazing at Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico

Moments later, I saw them approaching. I had a small window through the leaves where I could shoot discreetly. The light was perfect—the sun low, golden, and soft.

At first, Jared stood in the wrong area, blocking the view. I ducked down and turned around so Ashley wouldn’t see me, then repositioned. The Italian couple nearby acted like secret agents, letting me know in Italian when she wasn’t looking so I could pop back up and keep shooting.

Finally, Jared walked to the exact spot. He stood with Ashley for a moment, speaking from the heart. Then came our non-verbal cue: he turned his baseball cap backward—our secret signal that the proposal was about to happen.

The only challenge? He was so in the moment that he unknowingly had his back turned to me. I had to adjust quickly, scooting left and right to catch every angle as he dropped to one knee. She said yes.

After the Yes

Black and white hits different at Culebra, Puerto Rico

Once the excitement settled, I introduced myself. Ashley’s eyes widened in recognition. “Wait—you’re the guy from the coffee shop!” she laughed. And the golf cart sightings? Everything suddenly made sense.

I wasn’t a creeper. I was her Puerto Rico proposal photographer, doing his best to stay incognito.

As the sun began to set behind the island’s hills, I pulled out my Godox V100 flash and added a CTO gel to warm the scene. I lit them softly from below and we got creative with sunset portraits by the water. The sky was absolutely stunning—one of the most vibrant I’ve ever seen.

The Wrap-Up

This proposal had everything: surprises, serendipity, scenic challenges, and just the right amount of chaos. And in the end, it couldn’t have unfolded more beautifully.

Jared and Ashley, thank you for trusting me with such an intimate moment. It was an honor to document the start of this new chapter in Culebra. I wish you a lifetime of love, adventure, and spontaneous coffee shop run-ins.
